To attract, acquire and retain new users in the UAE who require a personal finance app.

Wally had been around for a couple of years by the time we worked with them. They had customers globally, but they found it was time to focus on one particular region with a sizeable market opportunity.
The team was small and required a partner to support their growth efforts.
Having identified that the audience was predominantly on Facebook and Instagram, ads were launched in the region.
Alongside paid media, we supported with lifecycle and product analytics; helping to nurture and retain users.
Early results showed us of the potential and within 2 short months a CPA of $5 had been achieved.
Roughly 30% of new users were connecting a bank account for the first time and 45% of them were returning on day 30.

About Wally
Wally is a personal finance app which was born in the US. Moving to focus on the UAE markets several years into the journey, the team recognised a large opportunity for investment and growth in the area.
The app allows individuals to connect their bank via open banking to consolidate their spending habits. Track subscriptions, create budgets and get a handle on spending easily.
Strategic paid media campaigns
The primary focus was to bring in new users in the UAE region, specifically Dubai to begin with. A relatively small cohort of users and audiences in the space, we set to work to identify the right people for Wally. Supporting with the creation of media assets and copy, we quickly saw results with leading indicators such as CPI as little as $2 USD.
Lifecycle approach
Email and push notification campaigns were set up to welcome users in and make them feel like they belonged.
We had identified that a small percentage of people were connecting at least one bank account in their first interaction. Our campaigns optimised that process, helping users through the onboarding journey.
Product analytics
Utilising Mixpanel we focused in on what users were accomplishing in their first and third visits to the app; looking at their core actions and determining the impact against objectives.
